When your opponent strikes first with shomen, turn around the attack with irimi-tenkan, use your right hand to receive .the blow, and then control your opponent as described in No. 5.
Tori: Advance on the left foot and execute irimi-tenkan (or, as the case may be, tai-no-henka) as you use your left te-gatana to strike down on your opponent's right wrist (18).
